What Is a Duvet Tog Rating?
A tog rating is a standard measurement of thermal insulation. Simply put, it measures how warm a duvet will keep you. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not about the thickness or quality of the duvet, but how well it traps body heat. The higher the tog rating, the warmer the duvet will be. The lower the tog, the cooler and more breathable it is.
Tog Rating | Season | Ideal For |
---|---|---|
2.5–4.5 | Summer | Hot sleepers, warm climates |
7.5–10.5 | Spring/Autumn | Transitional seasons, year-round use |
13.5–15 | Winter | Cold sleepers, unheated or cold bedrooms |
